Variegated Alocasia Frydek Care Guide

Light

• Bright, indirect light.
• Avoid direct afternoon sun, which can scorch the variegated leaves.
• Adequate light helps maintain healthy variegation.

Water

• Water when the top 23 cm (1 inch) of soil feels dry.
• Keep the soil evenly moist but never soggy.
• Do not let the pot sit in standing water.

Soil

Use a chunky, well-draining aroid mix, such as:

• Coco peat
• Coco chips or orchid bark
• Perlite or pumice
• Compost or worm castings

Humidity

• Prefers 6080% humidity.
• Higher humidity encourages healthy growth and reduces brown leaf edges.

Temperature

• Ideal: 1830C.
• Protect from temperatures below 15C and avoid cold drafts.

Fertilizer

• Feed every 24 weeks during the growing season with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength.

Repotting

• Repot every 12 years, or when the roots outgrow the pot.
• Use a pot with drainage holes and a well-aerated potting mix.
